Better make sure you're not grounded, wouldn't want to see you get crispy fried :) See Science 87 171 (1938) for details. This procedure takes two weeks to work, that's why it never became popular :)
Have plenty of permanganate. How would I go about making it strongly alkaline?
Generally one uses a base, but why do you need to duplicate the test procedure?
