Title: Solid Phase Research
Post by: Alkylight on August 15, 2001, 04:31:00 PM
Does anyone know if there is any scope for the developement of new drugs using solid phase chemistry.  I was thinking of anchoring the basic amphetamine subunit to the solid phase using a linker known as the 'bromo WANG' linker.  Basically just a resin bound benzylbromide.  I have a bit of experience with solid phase organic chemistry.  I have been playing with this idea for a little while now and I was wondering if it has any worth.  Could a whole new library of say amphetamine type drugs be built up this way??

General Combinatorial Synthesis of Tertiary Amines on Solid Support.
Tetrahedron letters
42 (2001) 133-136

This is more applicable to some tryptamine goodies.
