If you really want any help with this instead of it being just another "dumb newbee news report" you gotta give as much detail as possibleabout how you did the post rxn workup.
It sounds like you titrated the lye water. That'll give the good 'ol non vaporizing table salt.
Did you save the top floating NP layer (usually naphtha) which should have been sitting on top of the lye water layer?
If so that's what you should have separated from the lyewater rinsed 3x with dH2O and then titrated with 20ml dH20 plus 6 drops of hydrochloric acid per expected gram of finished goods.
At least you learned how to make table salt from drain opener and swimming pool pH acidifier.
