Title: What does it mean to "charge"?
Post by: abuse on September 22, 2003, 03:23:00 AM
I used TFSE but did not find anything that answered the simple question of what it means to "charge" products in a vessel. A quote from a synth...

...and 300g of xyz were charged into a 250 ml three-necked flask...

I checked Zubrick but there was no mention of "charge" in the index. Is "charging" a fancy term for simply adding products to a flask?
Title: Yes.

My dictionary says (among other definitions):  to load or fill with the appropriate amount.  Perhaps chemists who prefer this term are more aggressive personality-wise than those who simply place or put a chemical into a vessel, LOL
