Title: morphine analogs from berbamines?
Post by: stratosphere on February 23, 2004, 10:28:00 AM
i was wondering if any synthetic work has been done on producing morphine (or its related structures) from berbamine (or its related structures)?

as you can see from the below picture taken from

http://www.chinaphar.com/1671-4083/23/1057.htm (http://www.chinaphar.com/1671-4083/23/1057.htm)

.
the berbamines are structurally related to reticuline, which is an intermiediate in the biosynthesis of thebaine.
