I think it was ab2  who said 'what do you want to do with the ketone?'

Uemura thinks that is exactly where the results of the experiments described in

The only written reference Uemura has seen is the Leuckart conversion on Rhod's site provided by R. Carter?

Formation of the oxime, followed by the reduction of your choice (acidic reductions may be out of the question). I think that would be my first try.
