If N-Ethyl Benzenesulfonimine is stable and doesn't polymerize
this could be a cool new way to (subst.) amphetamines.

comments please!

What advantages does this synthesis offer over the generally simpler PhCH2CN + MeMgI (or PhCH2MgCl + CH3CN) followed by NaBH4 reduction (even if the N-ethyl analog imine would work the same as the N-benzyl)?

Ph-MeX is easyer to make then MeCN / PhMeCN is to get.
You don't need NaBH4 or any other reduction catalyst.
Maybe milder reaction conditions in comparison to Grignards.
It's just another route that may have its advantages and disadvantages.
