Freon for Non-Polar Extraction?
« on: July 03, 2002, 02:11:00 PM »
Has anyone ever used Trichlorotrifluroethane to do a non-polar extraction? AF found a couple of 1 lb. cans in the storeroom and was wondering if could be used instead of DCM. (Would have to chill first)
Sure would evaporate fast!

Freon is bad for the environment. DCM is a wonderful solvent, and should be used if available. Be responsible...
