Psilocybin

Call me dumb, but I was just wondering if there was a method out there which would enable me to synthecize psilocybin.  Mushrooms have always been among a favorite of my trips.

Why synthesize when you can just grow the darn things?

Do you know what is the regioselective thallation of the 4-position and how to make it ?
I think that a good way could be attack directly DMT in 4 position and then make the acetoxy, in Psychedelic chemistry, Michael Valentine gives a rxn with H2O2 and Cu Sulfate (don't remember exactly) that yields a mixture of different OH DMT, taht can be separated with chromatography, what do you think about it ?
This regioselective thallation seem to be be better.

Thallium?  :o  It's extremely toxic and it's polluting the environment. Bad idea. Other 4-hydroxylation reactions have low yields or need many steps. You can find the literature references on my site:

Lilienthal, don't you know the hydroxylation in Psychedelic Chemistry ? a 30 % yield seems good.
