Ok.. just so you know i DID do a search and only found the botched foxy thread.. I'm justwondering what great things can come from this chemical. I recall a little discussion on the past boards about it..but none here.. we can only get 5-MeO-Tryptamine from it? thats not too exciting.. just wondering.

wasnt it you who had described a 5-meo synth? maybe it failed? If it failed you hadsome some grounds to synth it.. my question is why arent people making more things out of melatonin, and if they are what are they?

Melatonin could be decarboxed to 5-meo-T by using KOH in Glycerine....

what to do with the 5-meo-T is your call... , but check Shulgin's TIHKaL for any working (or none working) compound starting with a 5-methoxy-something , (or go for a novel compound , how does 5-meo-9,10-didehydro-n,n-diethyl-6-methylergoline-8beta-carboxamine sound to ya ??)

check Rhods page for alkyllations or reductive methylations
of tryptamines before you ask more of the same questions...

I would think that the addition of an alkyl-halide instead of the aldehyde and hydride would be a simplier measure.

Melatonin is very expensive!!!! i didn't realize its like $3 PER mg.  Look somewhere else for a precursor, there are others.

Do You KNOW What A mcg is?  Microgram, which means there are 1000 of those in a mg (milligram).  That means that bottle has 36 mg total, and you would be paying $80+tax per gram.  You better learn your unit conversions dumbass, while those are cheaper than what i found they are still a ripoff.  Now i see why placebo bitches all the time!!!!!
