I have a question regarding the naming of the chlorinated Phenylalaninol....

C6H5-CH2-CH(NH2)-CH2Cl

Two naming systems - two results:
CS Name=Struct - 1-chloro-3-phenylpropan-2-amine
ISIS/Draw AutoNom Plugin - 1-chloromethyl-2-phenyl-ethylamine.
Personally, I prefer the Name=Struct name.

Also, substituents by right of seniority (acyclic compounds):
 -COOH > -SO3H > -CN > RCHO > RCOR > -OH > -SH > -NH2 > -NO2 > double bond > triple bond > Cl > single bond
From one of my textbooks ;)

Thanks longimanus for your input, however trying both names you provided game me no hits at chemfinder nor goggle. I have been looking for the properties of the halogenated amino alcohol i.e solubility, and other properties.

So  maybe some other bee might come up with another suggestion. I guess both of us will learn the name soon enough as to  what this compound is called.....

.................gracias, java

Oh, that was what you wanted. Searching The Merck Index and The CCD gave nothing! Substructure search at ChemFinder.Com - only an antiseptic. So, we need Chem3D Property Broker. The results (part of them):

 Boiling Point: 533.416 K
 Melting Point: 315.29 K
 Molar Refractivity: 48.2995 cm3/mol
 Critical Pressure: 33.6844 bar
 Critical Temperature: 759.39 K
 Critical Volume: 503.5 cm3/mol
 Heat of Formation: 20.21 Kcal/mol at 25°C
 LogP: 2.05 or 1.528 (don`t know why)

 Of course

Water Solubility: this property is not available for this molecule

;)
I`ve not found a single compound this property is available for.
