Title: Borohydride reductive amination a la LabTop
Post by: OcoteaCymbarum on September 07, 2003, 04:48:00 PM
I feel like trying the protocol that LabTop wrote a long time ago on Rhodium's website. I will use the same ratios given by him.
I just have a question about it: He states to gas in chilled acetone. I was under the impression that gassing in acetone wasnt so good, as it can lead to a lot of side products. Am I right?
I will be doing a 1/10 of his write-up. How long should i let it stir in the end? I'm guessing, less then what's advised on his write-up since I'm doing 1/10 scale.
Any thoughts on this?
Title: Use the latest method from Barium.

See my last remark in the sticky thread, Barium has posted a much better procedure, without need to use gaseous methylamine, but uses the salt in WATER!
Thought that the message should have hit home by now, look at the date I posted that. LT/  :)

That one is only in the Methods forum :

Have placed a message in this forum also now (really thought I had done that at the same time then, that's probably why there was such a shallow followup from Newbees!)
Look for it now also in Newbee forum,  "First read for Members new and old", last post now. LT/
