Does NaOH destroy Ketone or what?

swim has heard a bunch of shit about this does anyone actually know if the NaOH destroys ketone or what? can NaOH be used as long as the ph stays low? can someone enlighten us all.

In all seriousness, MDMA freebase and ketone co-exist with dilute aqueous NaOH without trouble. Don't go and boil MDMA freebase or ketone in NaOH, but other than that, don't worry.

NaOH causes the ketone to polymerize when heat is added, such as during distillation, lowering yield dramatically.
