Title: 5-MEO DMT physical properties
Post by: ClearLight on March 25, 2002, 07:47:00 AM
After using the search engine and looking through all my copies of hndbk of chemistry, does anyone happen to know the vaporization temp point ( if it has one ) of 5MEO-DMT?
Does it decompose or have a vaporization point?

You would have to specify if u want the vaporization point for either the hcl or the freebase.  5-meo-dmt is commonly smoked, so yes, it vaporizes.  If it helps any, the mp is 154F.

I assumed the HCL would just turn to crud  :( , so it was for the freebase version...

Since I just heard that the order just showed up, I guess I'll be posting the answer to my own question here in a few days after I run it through the lab...

Since it is frequently smoked it does have a vaporization pt.  Probably similar to DMT.

The vaporization point should be the same as its boiling point, unless it sublimes. According to Tihkal the bp is 160-170°C at 0.6 mmHg, which extrapolated to ambient pressure is approximately 370-390°C.

Thanks Rhodium, I didn't even think of the extrapolation... time to break out the lab survival guide and copy that chart... I'll post the experimental here in a few days...
