Title: glutaraldehyde in radiator sealant
Post by: xxxxx on May 13, 2004, 08:15:00 AM
at some gas station convienence stores in the midwest there is a radiator sealant product in 12 oz plastic bottles which has "contains glutaraldehyde" written on it (this means glutar-di-aldehyde, right? otherwise it would be called pentanal?). how much glutaraldehyde is in this product, what other substances are in this product and what would be the best way to extract the glutaraldehye

it would appear that glutaraldehyde is less that 0.5% by weight of such products.

Glutaraldehye is a very common disinfectant, I'm sure you can find it easily if you look for it... Perhaps UTFFroogle?
