Hello all :)
I need some help converting GBL into THICK GHB. I tried it a while ago and did something wrong. I used baking soda instead of ACS NaOH and ended up with 2 distinct layers. Top was fairly clear and the bottom was milky. It's supposed to be totally clear right?PH stayed around 8 - 8.5. It's supposed to be totally clear right? Any help or ideas of what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated. Oh, the GBL is NOT ONCE REMOVED. I get it from a chemical company the msds says 99% GBL.
thanks,
sally

Okay, Now I really feel like an idiot. After taking a closer look at the label on my GBL I've found that it not only contains GBL but N-Methyl -2-pyrrolidone as well. I guess this explains a lot of the trouble I've been having with converting to GHB. Can anyone help me? Can the N-Methyl... be removed or should I find a new GBL source. I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Sally
