Sorry if this is already around here somewere, i couldn't find anything:
Does anyone maybe know if it's possible to get the Benzaldehyd out of a solution of Benzaldehyd, Xanthan and Water? And would it be worth the while?
Thanks!
ps.: already searched at google, too, but all i found out is that xanthane is more soluble in water than benzaldehyd ...
hm, just found out that NaCl destroyes the Structure of Xanthane. I'll tell SWIM, i guess the Benzaldehyde is anyway of no worth for him in that form, so it might be worth a try
xanthan gum is a polymer. I guess you could try evaporating the water. Benzaldehyde is a liquid, I think you could pour or filter it off. Depending, of course, on the amounts of each present in the mixture.
hm, not bad, too - i'll try it right away.
thanks!
oh, er, by the way - wouldn't the benzaldehyde still be in solution with the xanthane? couldn't find anything if xanthane mighte be soluable in benzaldehyde ... i'll "report" on my tries
hm ... remember me to prohibit this xanthane stuff when i take over the world ... :(
