What exactly is decyltriethylammonium iodide? Phikal uses this in quite a few of his synth's. I can't seem to find any info on it.

It is a phase transfer catalyst (PTC). Check out Rhodium & TFSE.

It is very similar to the more common Aliquat 336, which is a near-identical substitute.
