Title: oxycodone -> oxymorphone with hydrobromic acid
Post by: taig on October 14, 2002, 10:07:00 PM
I haven't found that method mentioned on rhodium or elsewhere, but there is a US patent 2806033 that describes how to demethylate oxycodone by boiling with concd hydrobromic acid. I couldn't find the full patent text, does anyone know how that method works and at what yields?

Thanks,

Thanks. Well, it looks like Epikur's mthod at rhodium has a much better yield.
