Everyone knows that a chemical is a chemical, no matter how its made. So what do people mean when they say as noj did that such and such "was the best ketone i ever saw"? Do people mean, in general the reaction was better? Surly everyone should end up with the same ketone after distillation, no matter how its made.  Also people report different colors of ketone AFTER distilation. WTF? The only explanation i see is that some byproducts had identical or close to the BP of MDP2P...Tell me in not crazy....
AKKKKKKK i just did a little searching to make sure i wasnt talking out my ass an i see this

Blue ketone???? Im losing it over here, help.

By that, I meant it produced the best yields. It had to do with purity. I think with practice it keeps getting better and better. It's hard to learn on your own, which is really what we are doing, even though there are some who offer help.

A chemical is a chemical, but not all chemicals are pure. The same goes with the ones we purchase.

Mastery is based on the understanding and practice of technique.

Yeah....still who would have thought....blue ketone, green ketone, rainbow ketone. Seems to weird....I wish i knew what would make it blue and why it has the BP of the ketone. If i got red ketone or somthing i would freak out...

Someone swim knows once got a blue color when adding
KOH to safrole, but upom rxn turned the usual brown/black.
All other has been in the yellow-ish-green range.
She guess's the blue>iso thing were metal impurities from
the soap-grade KOH.
The ketone on Rhodium's page (nasa) is some strange shit,
and swim hasn't (yet) read a difinitive explanation for it.

CG I miss you sweety, I really do.

Isn't there  certain type of light which makes ketone(MDP-2-P) appear blue?

Blue light, perhaps?  :P
