what can Ni metal hydride be used for?i searched for it but i only found other metal hydrides....can it be used as a reducing agent or do you have to do something else to it first?

Antibody2

if memory serves, normally they are made in situ from a Ni salt and NaBH4 and used for nitro reductions.

do you mean NiBH4 is used for nitro reductions or just Ni hydride?what im asking is can Ni hydride be used as a reducing agent on its own?

That would be nickel boride, a hydrogenation catalyst.

I assume you opened up some reloadable batteries and want to use the stuff inside for reductions? I doubt that you can do anything useful with it.
