Hey to all the bees,

I am starting ab tests on the best high BP solvents to use during the thermal re-arrangement of the imine to amine as seen in the ketamine synthesis on rhodiums page (

Zealot's Complete Ketamine Synthesis

I am testing the following solvents since they have been before mentioned on the hive to be viable solvents.  I will hope to once and for all prove they are or aren't with qualitative measurements.

The solvents are:
-DimethylSulphoxide (DMSO)
-Ethyl Benzoate
-Undecane
-decalin
-ultrasene <-- this might be excluded because I did this before but it sucked.. and was dangerous...
-kerosene <--same as above

Also any constructive posts will definetly be appreciated.  Also if you want me to test a certain high BP solvent for this procedure please msg me and I will attempt it.  Thank you all..
