Is freebase phenylpropanolamine a solid or an oil at room temp? I've UTFSE but can't seem to come up with an answer. Swim is trying to extract it out of chewable veterinary  pills but am comming up empty handed. Also, what are the best solvents for freebase PPA or any help on extracting the PPA HCL directly from the pills? An acid-base extraction comes up with a jellied mess. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
