Lithium batteries are anything BUT cheap, where SWIM hailz from, a single battery will cost SWIM anything from £5-7

A major hardware store in my area, sells them by the 8 pack for 17.99. So just go buy a couple packs and dont reuse the others®

SWIM is a UK bee, and has only EVER seen a mxaximum of two small Li batteries per pack, for around £10-12.

Have any UK bees seen them cheaper/in bulk?

Also a well known pharmacy too,but to my knowledge all the other places sell two to a pack and there 6.00 U.S of course..

And these are all double A size batteries not the small camera bateries.Im sure there out there in the U.K somewere maybe?

Well jade answered this thread right up..... yes used batteries wont have as much availible lithium for you to crack open and get out, if any at all.

One of the biggest problems, IMO, would be not knowing just exactly how much lithium you had left in that battery.  Swim was never willing to take such a chance on ruining a rxn by it, are you?

How can you use any of it. Swim says a used battery's Li will disintegrate while unrolling. That's a fully used AA anyway.

lestat, since the pound note is worth more outside the u.k. (in some respects) why not purchase your bats via catalog or internet from places where the note gets you a better deal? Theres nothing odd about saving a few pounds being battery thrifty...    grin grin say no more aye?
