Pink Dye in Ammonia Fertilizer?
« on: August 21, 2004, 09:41:00 AM »
I was just watching the idiot box and was getting my fill of the propaganda channel (CNN) and was reading those little captions that they script for viewers to read at the bottom of the screen and the caption was titled, GLOW and TELL "Pink dye added to ammonia fertilizer, used to produce methamphetamine will stain noses pink." ....WTF?

Is anyone familiar with this "supposedly" new adulterant? I'm assuming that this applies to the anhydrous ammonia gas that people steal or trade with farmers?

They didn't get too specific, can't see them adding a dye to the solid ammonia nitrate or sulfate fertilizer. Assuming that this is coming down the pike, recondensing the gas prior to use should take care of this? Maybee they compromised and decided to go with this instead of the iron additive that they had planned originally?

Even if they did add it to the solid form, shouldn't pose a problem for those bees generating the gas from scratch. Haven't seen anyone walking around with pink noses lately have you?  ;D
