Recycling Magnesium Perchlorate
« on: July 23, 2004, 05:05:00 PM »
Magnesium Perchlorate is pretty expensive stuff. I'd like to recycle it but haven't been able to find out how. Can somebody please advise how this can be done.

WTF are you using magnesium perchlorate for? You have a need to dry CO2? Try not to burn down your house.

I am using it to dry the MDP2P Oxime ala Sonson's recipe for MDA via Oxime route.
I have only just realised by reading related threads here thats its real dangerous stuff so I'm being real careful. Also, I've just found out that the Oxime can be air dried. I wish I had known that before I bought this stuff which is real fucking expensive.

Magnesium perchlorate is incompatible with organic

The only way to be careful with it is to not allow it to come into contact with any organics. Just dumping some into a trash can could cause a spontaneous fire. It is only used as a drying agent in elemental analysis where the gases that air being dried with it are already fully oxidized.

. Do not think you really need to use this particular drying agent.
