You know, I joined it once but than they banned me for "being to young" - Hopefully they don't regret that...

I never read that forum, in fact - this is the only forum I seem to read that pertains to this topic so it seems.. .Its plenty.

vesp you were too young? Lol shoulda seen some of the stuff i used to post around that place in past, not stupid but you could see i was young haha i was only 19 - 20 back then.. no amount of learning back then could compare to just getting older, everything makes so much more sense now. And the vespiary is awesome. the fact we have so many intelligent people here really drives non chemists and newbs to pick up thier game and show initiative.

LOL. Strange fucking web site. There is a guy there that started posting when he openly claimed to be 14. Later it came out from what he had said that he was 12 or 13. There are other 14 year olds there to.

Im on Pnaut, SM, BL, and was on WD. It went all private and i was a lurker with zero posts. I didn't like it so much. Seems nice here tho.

Yeah it was a few years ago and I guess I put something close to my real age. They have an 18 year old rule - but most places don't actually enforce that, or don't allow you to sign up unless you modify the dates accordingly, Instead they let me sign up, make a few posts, and than got banned a few weeks/months later on... I am pretty young though, and you might notice I do not participate to much in the organic chemistry discussion because I don't really know all that much when it comes to that sort of stuff.

It is interesting to find that some people expect me to be in my 30's or 40's, but I am only about to turn 20 in a few months...

How old do you guys think of me as when you first join, read, and post?

The age range here is pretty wide, a lot of quality members are still in high school, while others are in their 40's or so... (from what I've picked up) but since everyone has a hugely different background - it is pretty hard to tell the ages of one another through the postings.

Ya its hard to tell peoples ages, but from what I have read here it appears that there is two main demographics. There is alot of members here who are in highschool/undergrad chemistry courses. Then there are a section of more experienced members who were around back in the hive days and thought themselves all of this from scratch? But there obviously is a vast range of age groups, background, and experience between the members here, which help make it the great community it is!
I just would like to thank Vesp for the work he has put into this site! It really is one of a kind!

I don't think I will, seems like there are a few different types of people in this world, and I am not of the generic sort... I'll probably be this way my whole life, and I've got a special hatred towards the war on drugs and intellectual property rights... so those could end up being the central themes of my life. But ya'know... hell if I know..

Wow, Vesp. At 20 I was but a clueless fop only good for playing rock and roll guitar! Nowadays I have many a clue under my belt but am still more or less only any good to anyone as a musician/cland-drug chemist/proofreader.

I too thought vesp was older than he apparently is. He seems mature. I'm 50 going on 15!

I've only been "into" chemistry for 2 years and my husband has been in love with it since he was a kid. He was mostly a lurker during the hive days.
