How interesting! It seems the forum has just up and died!
I'll make a few new posts soon and see that I can get it to jump start back to the wonderful 20-50 posts a day that we were getting.
I'm sure this is because I've been more busy then usual studying for tests and the end of the year. I'm very sorry it has been bit of a bore around here. I'll create a "Vesp's Random Experiment Thread" and hopefully get some interesting material up in the next week or two.

Weathers getting to nice is what it is. Need a nice cold spell to bring every one inside....

Iv been two busy digging up sassy root, distilling it only got about 50ml so far :( , and making a new steam distiller out an old deap fryer... Oh yeh this baby is gonna kick to. Gotta two gallon bucket, 1800 watts and will have a gallon boiling in about 5 mins.
. Can boil off a gallon of water in a little over an hour. So damn fast It was raining in my Lab. keep feeling drops of water it me, couldnt figure out why till I looked up and the 14ft high roof was saturated and raining on me. Fuckin awsome.

Hahahaha excellent sedit.  50ml of sassafras oil is quite a bit, if you're good you could get ~45 grams of black licorice flavoring from it.  Keep us posted on the steam distillation apparatus though!

Its a keeper. Just have to figure how Im going to go about attaching an outlet and cover the big hole for the carbon filter on top. Ill keep ya updated, Im taking pictures so Ill add a write up when Its complete and tested.

50ml ain't enough licorice for me. I want more but the ticks are bad and poison Ivy between my fingers sucks.

The weather really is the problem, it has been distracting me as well. You're so lucky to have the sassy grow in abundance where you live.
I'd spend hours just collecting pounds of its roots. Impressive distiller also, I'm not really sure how it works though. It'll be interesting to see more about it.

It happened again...
I look at all the statistics constantly and I still can't figure out what causes huge fluxes of new members, threads, and posts or hardly any new members and few posts.  I can't correlate to time of week, day, or anything.

Maybe because schools, at least where I live, are starting up for the high schools and the colleges/universities.
That is my guess, but I don't know..

I was on vacation for a week and just got back today so that explains my absence, but I figured my absence would have improved the site not make it worse lol.

The statistics are caused by 'dry' and 'wet' spells of free time haha.  Wet spells of free time are typically around winter break, spring break for some, the 3rd or 4th week after school gets out, middle of june some where, and a large chunk between mid july and mid august.

Very dry periods include end of august/beginning of september (starting school/new classes), last week of november - first week of December.  Middle of jan - middle of feb, and then may/beginning of june.  Now, remember this, and watch your statistics ;)

I've been very busy with all sorts of stuff (school, housing, etc.), so it'll be a few weeks before I can sustainably be around more.

I think maybe it could actually correlate with how much me and sedit post over at sciencemadness since we both have urls to this site in our signatures. Thats one idea but I dunno.
