I know ebay sellers are to be weary of, but there is a store that sells MeOH/NaOMe for a pretty decent price. Is there any way I can check to see if they report suspicious purchases? would it be wise to call ahead (payphone/blocked number)?

Sources are not shared openly.
NaOMe is not listed, not watched, and not suspicious. It is fairly hazardous, so you problem will be with suppliers concerned about liability. Follow all the usual source precautions.
NaOH and MeOH are OTC.

You will need CaO and NaOH since MeOH and H2O do not form an azeotrope to my knowledge meaning traditional means of generating Ethoxides go out the window with Methoxides and one needs a powerful dehydrating reagent in order to force the equilibrium to the right.

Methanol is a lot less acidic than ethanol, so that complicates things as well.
IIRC methoxide is used for biodiesel applications and is not suspicious.
