Been lurking for a while, waiting to get my security all sorted as I'm a bit paranoid. Better safe than sorry though

My background is in Chemistry and Pharmacology, home chemistry has been an interest of mine for a long time and mainly focus' around the more legal aspects however psychoactive compounds are definitely the most interesting from a pharmacological point of view so I do dabble in synthesis for self experimentation.

I enjoy optimizing reactions and as such quite often spend months on a single reaction, I'm way to paranoid to go large scale but if i can optimize a reaction to help others go large scale and spread the good vibes then I am happy! I am a nut for purity so please excuse me if i get a bit angry when people disregard it.

I hope I can provide as much help as possible, I'm a busy person so ill do my best to make time to research answers etc.


 

I have found myself to be rather obsessed with purity and optimization as well. I didn't see it coming either. I don't think it's about the chemicals themselves, it's more about the chemistry. I saw a short clip with Shulgin once being interviewed in some old alchemist's lab and they asked him about the role alchemy played in the development of what we now call chemistry. Being the sly old fucker he is, he answered that alchemy and chemistry are not one in the same and that these ancient artists were practicing a form of meditation, not any pursuit of science. That stuck with me, and I have since noticed, if I'm honest with myself, that the meditation of playing with chemistry set is what I love. I would venture to say that's true to some extent for all of us.
