How to clean L-PAC after hydrogenation?
« on: September 08, 2011, 05:00:34 PM »
Hello everyone. I want you all to ask for advice on how to clean the L-PAC by hydrogenation according to U.S. Patent No. 7,176,332 B2.
L-PAC is usable again, but it seems to me that it is not entirely clear. The view is colored in black, and its yield in the final product is smaller.
Thanks for any advice. Sorry for my English, not perfect.

Method for the synthesis of amines such as ephedrine and intermediates
Patent  US 7176332

The material you get will be ephedrine if that's your goal, just do an acid/ base work up....java

Of course there are the hydrogenation of L-PAC product on l-ephedrine and other ephedrine side groups. Yet at the end of hydrogenation does not occur to the entire depletion of L-PAC, but a certain amount remains unused, soiled only. L-PAC must somehow re-cleaned to give reused for further hydrogenation. But unfortunately I do not know quite for sure how can I clear it is not damaged.

Why not think it out....what are the properties of L-Pac, its solubilities and what are those of ephedrine ...its the difference that you should look at and use those differences to resolve the problem....java

L-PAC is the precursor ephedrine and its properties are familiar, but what interested me is how it could be cleaned in the practical part of L-PAC in its original condition other than sodium hydroxide. This circuitous method as I not obtained a perfect cleaning.

In azeotropic distillation is also not clear he fully.

For JAVA:
Well, I'll read it. I will write here some results.

For Tsathoggua:
Much I like your article about the R-PAC. I work with L-PAC, but I would try to work with R-PAC. For L-PAC using the hydrogenation process according to U.S. patent 7,176,332 B2, which is the main product of l-ephedrine. With the R-PAC provides main product of d-ephedrine. It's so practical part? What do you think? What is the difference in yield between L-PAC and R-PAC.

.....it seems to me you  are asking to be spoon fed, there is plenty of information of the net regarding your particular synthesis.....your inability to write in  english is one thing, but i think your reading is not effected by your language barrier....you've been working the members of this and the SM forums to do your work....also you've not been honest as for your ultimate goal to produce ephedrine knowing darn well its illegal ...so start being honest and contribute ....java/solo

I acknowledge that my English is not very good, but I deal with everything here, or try to consult with you, is for a theoretical stage, I would like to begin sometime in the future and provide practice for manufacturers of food supplements and plant exercises. I read many articles, but many things does not give me much of a sense of how I imagined. So here looking for professional help.
