Converting Doxylamine or Diphenhydramine to Something Fun

I see no mention of doxylamine being investigated on this site and would like to see what kind of ideas can be generated by everyone on how to turn it into something fun.

I first had the idea a bit over a year ago and posted about it on bluelight before finding this site.
To give a relevant background to the idea I will post quotes from the thread so I don't end up rambling all day due to vyvanse.

Poster A quoting then asking me:

"while trying to see if doxylamine succinate could maybe be converted to something recreational..."

wtf made you think this?


Poster B quoting Poster A and then praising me and giving the first idea:

"wtf made you think this?"

the OP has vision. reduction of doxylamine to the piperidine and then cleavage of the ether followed by esterification would give a interesting reverse ester related to ritalin.

Poster C chiming in:

methyl phacetoperane. Had wondered about about the doxylamine derivative, though as the pyridine, not the piperidine. Makes more sense though.

With the millions of threads devoted to stupid stimulants and the tens of millions devoted to acetyl loperamide, I'm amazed this hasn't been brought up even once before.

I hope this sparks some creativity, just an idea I never went anywhere with.


Edit: Had some ideas about diphenhydramine as well that I posted at bottom.

I thought I was going to have to yell at you before opening it but further looking at it there is the possibility of it being turned into Ritalin although I doubt it would be worth it. I also see the possible potential as a GABA agonist hiding somewhere in there as well.

H2/Pt in acetic acid for the reduction, hydrolysis and deoxygenation using HI/RP, chlorination of the remaining terminal carbon followed with hydrolysis and esterfication of the carboxylic acid yields Ritalin. Long shot but possible.

I would have to take measurements of the distance between the nitrogen and the various conformers of the oxygen after some work with the molecule but there may be GABA agonist potential as well but that also would take quite a bit of work.

I don't see anything fun being closely related to doxylamine.

To bring up this dead thread...

Hexapradol

Stumbled on this guy and got thinking about other more known relatives like 2-Diphenylmethylpyrrolidine, Diphenylprolinol,  and Pipradrol.

Now that got me thinking that there was beta-Phenylmethamphetamine and 3-Benzhydrylmorpholine, none of these really pop out to me just yet but I am trying to narrow down anything that would be a worthwhile target compound that has the diphenyl starting point found in doxylamine.

Hopefully something positive comes out of this.

Edit: searching for '2-Amino-1,1-diphenyl' brings about some interesting structures such as

2-Amino-1,1-diphenyl-1-propanol
