There should be some sort of a peer review system in effect...come to think of it...what about the idea of a peer-reviewed journal?

Sounds like a great idea 

At the end of each page there could be links that would lead to different steps.

Ex: Mescaline synthesis page would have a link at the bottom to 2c-b

If its something you could put into action i think it would be very promising.

I can of course see the advantages with an idea like this. Like carl said, some things tend to get lost in massive threads with all the ranting that takes place there.
But isn´t the rantings back and forth a prerequisite for the topic at hand to take a leap forward?

There is a danger a place like an invite-only wiki would be nothing more then a mutual admiration society.
That there would not be much new ideas because a new way of thinking is often the offspring of a good discussion between likeminded souls with the same burning desire. In fact the danger is this wont resault in anything else but a wiki of what you already know.
If so, that would not be all bad though.

Another idea would be to have harder moderation. I mean in that sense that the moderators of places like this cleans up the threads in a V2.0 thats linked in the original thread. In the V2.0 only the facts would have a place, not the discussions that lead to the facts. This though would be a pain in the ass for moderators, bye bye social life...

There are already wikis out there like this.
