Over the past couple month Ab2 has come across some of the skankiest looking mdma she has ever seen. In both cases it was brown, big crystals though as though it had been rextalized at least once, but obviously not enough.

Ab2 was trying to think what process would result in such product. Going the Al./Hg or NaBH4 route doesn't give this colour product, unless maybe the ketone was not distilled, but even then ... But then Ab2 was thinking the bromine route! That must be it. Never having seen the product of that process first hand Ab2 can only speculate, but thought some other wasp might know better.

Any thoughts?

Reckless - No no, Ab2 would never touch/buy anything that looks like this, just curious how it ended up that way.

yeah that's the bromine route it always gives that yucky brown coloroed stuff but i always managed to get translucent crystal just with one single dual solv recrystalization etoh/acetone.
washing with hot water helped tremendously.

its better before recrystalizing its more active IMO
