Hello, and thank you for having me!

Hello, bees and wasps!

I was actually *not* going to formally introduce myself; however, after reading a few of Vesp's earlier posts regarding the matter, I've reconsidered. What really pushed me over was reading Dr. Tox's threads regarding his sentencing (more on that in a bit).
In any case, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made this forum possible. I realize that it takes a lot of work to keep a machine like this running. Even more so, in this particular case, considering the content. There are many drug related forums available, but most are now overrun with characters with Walter White-esque delusions and/or ramblings about theoretical synthesis. As much as I DON'T know about chemistry, I feel comfortable here. And I wanted to let everybody know how appreciative I am for that.
So, thank you.
And now, a bit about myself!
I have had the (un?)fortunate experience of a federal prison quite like the one Dr. Tox is currently residing in. During my internship there, I met a peculiar fellow who introduced me to the wonders of organic chemistry! But, like it has been pointed out, the libraries in those prisons are shit. The only books that I could obtain were of the caliber of "Chemistry for Dummies". Anything more was refused by the mail room. On top of that, the odd fellow with all of the answers (it is believed) has Asperger's Syndrome. And a massive ego (rightfully so). So what I got was a lot of stuff that wouldn't make much sense to me until right about three days ago when I joined The Vespiary! After my internship, I couldn't really find much of anything that I could use, let alone some guidance. In the back of my mind, I always imagined that I could one day make sense of all of this. It wasn't that I didn't try! I mean, I taught myself French in there! A bit passed, and I picked up mycology for shits and giggles. I read everything that I could find on the internet (there's less useful information than you would imagine - publicly available and easily searchable, that is), until serendipity brought me here! Yay!
I've spent, literally, 30 hours over the last three days poring over threads on this site. Upon advice from one user to another, I've spent 5 hours today watching YouTube videos (MIT has some very, VERY thorough ones). I don't want to be that asshole that somebody has to tell to use the fucking search engine (really? I thought the Google age would've ended asking...). As it stands, I know fuck all hell about hands-on chemistry (except what I got from Mr. Wizard, Bill Nye, Beakman, and cooking), but I'm not an elementary school drop-out. Just being a member here for simply three days, I've picked up SO much! I obviously won't be doing any syntheses later today, but I sure feel comfortable with lesser things, like setting up, and performing, a fractional distillation.
My ultimate goal is to have the skill, and ability, to perform multiple syntheses of myraid compounds, not just cooking up recipes. I feel more than confident that the bees and wasps here can help me very much along in that journey.
I'll do what I can, here at The Vespiary, to contribute to the furtherance of clandestine chemistry.

Again, thank all of you that help to make this forum possible. I appreciate it more than you can know!

Welcome!

What are your subjects of interest?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking.

Synthetic method, as a whole, is of interest to me. Specifically, synthesis of phenethylamine precursors.
