I check the "Whos online" a bit and I constantly see people "posting" to whatever thread. They sit there and sit there and sit there "posting" to the thread for like 10 or so minutes. Then they are off doing something else like reading a thread but their post to the thread they were posting to never shows up. This happens all day long. Are all these people losing their posts from automatic log outs and just saying 'fuck it I'm not typing all that shit again'? I sure hope not because I can't count how many times I was just waiting around ready to view the new post that never comes and I'd hate to think I was missing out on some very valuable info that the poster decided not to type all out again. If that is the case why don't they just hit the back button??? I mean when that happens to me and I get logged out while posting I'll just hit back button, copy my post that is still in the entry window, log back in, and then paste the post in a new window. Doesn't this work for everyone????

You also, as a member, have the right to change the time when you are logged out... If you just type in something like 9999999 you'll never get logged out for what its worth...

Yeah I know, but it's never a problem for me since I just go back and then copy and paste but for some reason it seems many spend time "posting" but never do.

Another thing, is that a lot of times the forum doesn't correctly state what the guests and users are doing

Also sometimes if people are mutliple tab users... they could be typing something, or going to type something, get distracted and read some other stuff... and never go back to posting.. I do this sometimes :P

I for one consider posting much more than I actually post. Sometimes I'll start making a post, but then decide that it either isn't important enough or isn't postable for whatever reason. I'd be willing to wager that others do the same thing.

ye me too especially if I find that my post is insulting to some one.
I usualy erase my post if its insulting.

funny enough I find my self to be a real bastard in my head but prefer not to post

Plus using multiple tabs open at the same time, really is going to overload anyone trying to trace your IP and your browsing... Especially when it comes to digging through copious reams of printouts in Court... I generally have facebook, etc. open as my first dozen or so tabs, who knows, might be really pissing someone off ??? Then again, maybe not... I do know I'd hate to be diving into that amount of crud (fuck, I hate going back through my tabs looking for what I was reading while I'm still browsing, imagine going through records years old looking for records in PHP/HTML/etc. - ie. not plain text, while trying to keep a jury interested...), looking for specific anything, sometimes I can have 2-3 instances of firefox going, with 20-100 tabs open at the one time, most of which are misc. crap. or dead end search queries, page 23...

im stuck on old sloth tech id be lucky to get 10 to 15 tabs and still have responce and thats on a recompilled nix kernel.

German, I know what you're talking about. It often happens to me when I post. The post doesn't disappear, but I frequently have to wait until the next day before it shows up in the forum. So at least in my case, there's a time lag between hitting the post button and having the text appear in the forum.
