this one's for you jon, mauro picotto.  i hope this is the right mix (i don't have speakers hooked up right now to verify) but there's a part in the middle that sweeps left to right and used to make my eyes bounce in synch with the sweeps

As already mentioned, crystal method's whole vegas album is pretty amazing. Simon Posford, Enthiogenic, and other artists in the psybient genre are pretty damn awesome.

i can tell by jon's selection he's an old skooler, taking it back to the 90's with those.  but i love hearing old skool shit when i'm rollin, hits the spot for sure

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBza2m9L0To
^ more solid trance, the roc project - never, i remember seeing Armin van Buuren in 2003 and he killed the crowd when he dropped this one.  of course AvB dropped a slightly different filterheadz remix that was more bass heavy.  you know how some songs are so good they give you goosebumps?  yeah

^ you guys like breaks?  infiniti - children of the 80's, wait for that transition at 1:13 and 1:55

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHSpzr0aC7A
^ dj trashy - all i ever wanted (johnny cage remix), nice synths going full-on at 1:50, breakbeat kicks back in after that.  the visualizer the guy chose isn't half bad either

I have been loving old acid rock and new school, too. Give this a chance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1lD5cE6Bwc

Chris Lake did a BBC Essential mix a few years back and I play that thing all the time. I tapped the board for MANDY at a party and listen to that recording a lot, super dope berliners if you don't know. Their label rocks, too. Phillip told me he is working on an album so that should be cool if it ever happens.

Any of you have any recent dj sets that are downloadable? If anyone is interested I can put a couple up that nobody but a select few have. Promise not to torrent or mule the things!

haha you know it!  candyflipped but am going to break for awhile now.  i hope you're doing better that was terrible news, i'm just hoping to hear of a full recovery but even then i'd be careful man.  it's a great high (my favorite) but not worht gambling your health/life over for sure.  we'd like to see you stick around for a lot longer.  i was shocked as hell cuz regardless of what people might say i always considered mdma to be practically harmless, just watch out for the emotional side of doing too much and overheating while on it, i never considered anything else.  i've overdone it many times in the past and gone through the whole emotional thing but always bounce right back, never any lasting depression or moodiness except for short term.  i'll definitely be more careful now, i would've preferred to find out through other means though rather than it happening to a member of our community

those 2 are fire jon, thanks for turning me onto those.  like that old skool rave piano with the high pitched voice in the moby song, that's classic.  i'll toss a few old skool tracks back at you

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v86UG6WYlJk
^ urban hype - living in a fantasy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eIkjyvTgE8
^ 808 state - pacific state

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6vpOi24BK0
^ dj slam - looking into the light, a nice piano and high pitched voice combo after the 1:15 mark if you dig old drum n bass loops

disposable stirbar i've never heard of chris lake before so i searched for some of his stuff and i liked that "only one" track. stumbled across a collab he did with deadmau5 so of course that got my attention
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MhjG8kwCI4
^ deadmau5 & chris lake - i said (michael woods remix)

I Find that while on mdma, or even meth! Music actually penetrates my soul, and takes a position inside of it. It's as if god pierces my very soul, it's a stunning feeling. Like i am being uplifted to heaven by the hand of god. And the musical notes are piercing my soul, playing on my heart string, for that reason i prefer to listen to soul music while high on amphetamines. Too bad i don't have any to get high on right now, although i will soon i hope. :-( It's why i believe that these substances are such precious tools, magical cures for depression, and just absolutely beautiful things, they help us enjoy life, why is it that the government wants to make being happy illegal? MDMA Would make a psychopath start hugging people. At the very least allow doctors to prescribe MDMA for people. It amazes me, dextroamphetamine, the non-methylated amphetamine, which in my opinion is almost as potent as meth(infact MDA is probably more smooth than MDMA) was originally prescribed, from the 30s to the 50s, as a cure for all of depression, and it worked! Unlike the bullshit pseudo-chemicals on the market today mass-marketed by pharmaceutical companies, to make money, dextroamphetamine actually made old and sick people enjoy life. I Even read an article recently about giving cancer patients dextroamphetamine to make them enjoy life. And it works! It makes you enjoy life. It's why i intend to dedicate my life to these substances and there manufacture, to help people, i think that it's wrong and immoral that these magical compounds are being withdrawn from the people, of course you can get them illegally, but who really cares about that?! Alot of the time you don't even get MDMA anymore. ANd besides, a substance that sacred, i feel, deserves to be investigated, as to into it's manufacture and what not.

At the start of my whole path with MDMA and ambient---which coincided---someone turned me on to Global Communication's seminal album 76:14 and I listened to it during my first four or five eXperiences. As a result, that music took on a sort of iconic importance. It's faded a bit now actually, but back then, woah it was a very strong association.

Now that I think of it, this is true of a couple of other albums (CDs) as well.

Actually, hold on... here's the real tip: if anyone wants to try an amazingly gentle, transcendent, beautifully shimmering, deeply meaningful, transformative CD while having a quiet one at home with a loved one (or alone), I have a VERY strong recommendation for you: the artist is named Levi Chen and the CD title is Tao (also released as Liquid Gardens). I'm not kidding my friends, this music is highly sacred and heart-meltingly beautiful. You will NOT regret listening to it. Listened to during the come-up, it is pure bliss and sets the tone for a peaceful journey. It became my musical religion for MDMA listening, even more so than the Global Communication CD. The GC album is very beautiful too, but in an electronic context. Tao/Liquid Gardens is organic... pure human emotion expressed through a Strat with the perfect amount of reverb and delay.

I'm a musician, so I don't say these things lightly.
