does one have to use swim or only when speaking of illegal things? can one say I when speaking of chem experiments that aint illegal? I already know how sedit feels bout this :)!

I think there are also a few other threads around talking about it -- I'd take any advice no1uno has said to really be in the clear. But  basically avoid helping anyone break the law, talk about general chemistry, and don't claim you've came here for a capitalist adventure, etc etc

Using the actual term "SWIM" tends to be shunned here just because it's been way overused at some less than great forums.

Passive statements are always a good option "150g of Y were mixed with 200g of Z."

In reality, though, it makes little difference from a legal standpoint.  I murdered Nicole Simpson.  See, it doesn't prove anything.  On the other hand, if you say "SWIM added this and that to a 3-liter, 2 neck flask.. product came over at 110 C etc." and they can link you to the forum and find a 3-liter, 2 neck flask and lab notes mentioning a product coming over at 110, it's probably not going to improve your case any.

They're probably not going to connect you to any forums, but it's a good idea to be discreet in what you mention.

many thanx. the search engine isn't  on the format the phone uses automatically so those posts were very helpful and thanx for the patience, feel very at home here and feeling very appreciative to Ll the predecessors!
