Besides that CaCOOH is probably very bulky and voluminous compared to KCOOH: yes you can use ANY salt of formic acid, but amine salts give N-subbed sec. amines depending on whether you reductively aminate a ketone or not...

Dunno. Haven't asked them yet. They do though... Mr. Green

And: NaOH + C2H4(OH)CH3 -> C2H4(NaOH)CH3 + H2O
(is displaced to the very left though, meaning that most of the hydroxide remains unchanged. But not all....)

Absolutely.

--- now straight: you are quite new here, and thus may not have read our rules. I just tried to help you, and if you are not capable of behaving like an adult, educated person, you will see the consequences. This is not a warning, I just want you to re-read what you just wrote and then ask yourself: how is it related to what I tried to tell you about CaCOOH? Was it necessary to freak out like that? ----

peace,

How you like ya new one?? Twisted Evil

About serotonine, I'm afraid I can't answer that, maybe you can try and get help from the (much more knowledgable!) members Startlight or dandmueller...

(another thread who deserves being closed, IMO. Especially since his question has been answered... Or anyone wanna add sumthing?)

Swim is not indole_amine. keep things clear. No need to act childish on this forum, there are other forums to do that. IMO it seems like he was trying to help.

Why don't u just make potassium formate using KOH and formic acid? or Ammonium formate via ammonium carbonate. All these compounds are avalible OTC. Formic acid could also be used in these type of reductions.
