SWIM can buy these benzaldehydes but was wonder if the other ones besides 3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde is usefull.
And what drug you get up on making the coresponding nitropropene or styrene and then reducing it...
labeled top to bottom, a to g..
a) methylation of the hydroxyls and reduction of the following nitropropene would yield 3,5-dimethoxymethamphetamine (3,5-DMMA) but there is no entry on phikal for this compound
b) reduction of the nitropropene would yield (a)
f) you could methylate the 3 position and reduce the nitropropene to once again get (a)
3,5-DMMA would have some value action due to its similarity to various other dimethoxy compounds on phikal with reported action. Check out a few of the reports and make your judgement -->
