So i decided i was going to try and use sassafras root and distill my own oils. However through research and resource availablitiy it doesnt seem like an efficient way to go. What about distilling from the Piper Auritum plants? It seems distiling from the leaf would be a better way to go. Would it require a MASS amount of plant material like say how many kilos to get a liter of oil?

piper auritum is considered to be really low in oil content (you know what "volatile" means, right?) i'd personally not go for distilling anything out of bark or leaves, since until you get the stuff from your supplier (most likely in case of incorrect handling), a good part of your valuable oil is already gone.
