Nigerian scam...

Do you think this could lead to something productive?

I can appreciate that. Life can be difficult at times. Business even more so.

Is it money? You tell me. I can handle large funds but can I be trusted? Again, you tell me. I am free of all depths if that's what you mean. I have a fairly flexible arrangement with my financial advisor. Afterall, you don't get rich by obeying the rules. Not in Europe at least.

I think I get your point. Let's talk loosely then... What part of the world are you in and what exactly do you want me to help you with?

If by 'productive' you mean 'your bank account being completely drained', then yes. Also, you could write back feigning interest, and just fuck with these guys for as long as they'll put up with. I've read some hilarious stories of people doing exactly that... They want you to respond, desperately in fact, so they will more than likely be easily goaded into ... well, whatever the hell you dream up. I urge you to have fun with this, but I wouldn't take it any more seriously than any of the other Nigerian scams out there. And I hope that's not your real name at the bottom...

Sheez. primathon. You take things too seriously. I guess you have to, you being a moderator and all. I should probably have used the signature "S. Arcasm". I'm just bored and this is friday night. No, wait. It's not. Ah well, I appreciate your concerning reply anyway. Just goes to show how commited you are to cut the crap. And that wasn't sarcasm. |

Serious? Hmm... Yeah, I guess I did come off as a little overbearing in that one... My bad. Anyway, on a lighter note, I think you should fuck with these guys and keep posting back here with what they reply with. It'll make for good reading, trust me . |

Even when I make it simple there is no response..
[...]
What a load of crap. caps. punctuation. I just dunno where to start. I could write a better scamletter. Something europeans might even trust. You got my email. Lets talk scam. You better have some brains behind it or I wont even waste a second on you. Dont attach anything. Write me and we'll work something out. I dont want to talk to a buch of braindead slugs. The ball is in your court. Go get it *boy*.
[...]
I probably am being overly offensive. |

They answered. I'm looking forward to toying with their brains. I probably can't do a job worthy of www.scamorama.com though. These are hilarious. They are all with pictures:

Dear Wayhan Raabe,
Thank you so much for your willingness to assist me in this business relationship. I will also like to express my appreciation for your prompt response. I am using this opportunity to tell you that i want you to help me receive this fund for investment in your country.
Like I wrote in my business proposal you can view from a religious perspective that I am transparently I will say reaching you is quite spiritually motivated.
I am from Liberia here in west Africa. It will be nice if you could let me have an idea of your personal profile, such as your private phone and fax numbers, your occupation, your age and marital status. As you can see, this transaction is to be based on absolute trust and confidentiality as the fund involved is huge.
The amount in question is US$7.7million ,I will compensate you with 15% for your effort and assistance. I will want you to invest this fund in any profitable venture, such real estate and properties, but you can as well suggest too.
As soon as I receive your next correspondence to enable us intimate you the necessary steps to be taken in this transfer after meeting with the Banker to know how best to transfer this fund.
I will be really delighted if you could come all out to assist me. While anxiously
waiting to read from you
Regards,
Mark Foday

If they bite on this they're mighty stupid. Not only can any idiot trace my IP, the time difference alone should make the lie obvious. I don't think there's any sun in Monaco right now. But let's see.....
------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, here in Monaco we don't believe much in god, king, and country. We believe in hard currency. Like Euros and Pounds. Before I reveal any personal information I'd like to you to do the same. Afterall it seems to me that you're the one in the tight spot, not me. How would *you* feel if a total stranger off the internet mailed you and asked you to reveal *your* "private phone and fax numbers, your occupation, your age and marital status". I realise there may be some money to be earned but I don't really need it. I use most of my time on my boat enjoying the sun with a froothy drink in my hand. In fact, I'm writing you from the deck of the "Ares" right now. The reflection of the sun makes it hard to see the screen but I'm bored. So here we are.
To be honest I don't think Monaco needs investment from Liberia but who am I to say? 7.7 million USD... That's approximately 6.5 million EUR. 15% you say? My cut then would be roughly 900000 EUR. Nah. If you're really in such a pickle you up my cut to 25% and I'll have my financial advisor give it a look-see.

I won't. But drop the divine stuff. You're not dealing with a gullible american here. I don't give a rat's ass about whatever "god" you worship, or your so called "divinity". Ofcourse I can handle a large economic transaction but it'll have to be done intelligently. That is: in small amounts, spread over several accounts, in several banks, situated in several countries. That's how you launder money.
> My name is Unity khumalo, a senior Auditing Officer with the ABSA Bank in South Africa. There is >an account opened in this bank in 1980 and since 1996 nobody has operated on this account >again. AAfter going through some old files in the records, I discovered that if I do not remit this >money out urgently it would be forfeited to the government as dormant account.
Noone wants to see the government get richer. Whatever it's name is. Let's keep this to ourselves and we'll get rich together. I don't care about your name either. That has got to be fake anyway. All I care about is bank accounts.
> The owner of this account is Mr. Fernando Carlos, a foreigner, he was a miner at Kruger Gold >Company, a geologist by profession, and he died since 1996 in a plane crash. No other person >knows about this account or anything concerning it, the account has no other beneficiary and my >investigation proved to me as well that this company does not know anything about this account >and the amount involved is (US$14 million) Fourteen million United States Dollars.
No need to spell it out. I'm a smart person. What makes you think I wont steal it all and leave you stadning there with nothing prettier to look at than the sunset?
> I want to transfer this sum of Fourteen million United States Dollars into a safe foreign account >abroad. I am contacting you based on the fact that you are a foreigner because this money can >only be approved for payment to a foreigner. I know that this proposal will come to you as a >surprise as we don't know ourselves before.
You surprised me alright. Never thought that such an opportunity would come my way. But you hit the right person. Europe. The perfect place for such a transaction. We've got lots of anonymous banks here. Not like in the USA where everything is recorded by the NSA.
> However I got your contact from a trade consultant here in South Africa, though I did not >disclose the purpose of my seeking for a foreign business partner to him. Although we will still have >to meet to sign some agreement before the final transfer of the fund into any of your designated >bank account.
Fuck your trade consultant. If there's money in it *we'll* make it, and *they* can go screw themselves.
> I have involved a very senior official in the operational department, and we have agreed that >after the transfer of the money into your account, you shall be entitled to 25% of the total sum, >my colleagues and I will have 70% while 5% will be used to reimburse any expenses incurred.
How many colleagues do you have? 25% seems a little hard on me since I'm the one setting up all the contacts. And I *will* set them up. Trust me. If you got a better contact, use it. You come up with a better offer. Double quicktime!
>All necessary precautions have been taken to ensure a risk free situation on the side of both >parties. Please note that this deal can only take place on the following conditions;
Nothing is risk-free my new friend. You ought to know that with so much money within reach.
> 1. You will provide the bank account and other relevant particulars/information for easy and >onward Remittance of the Fifteen million USD.
Ofcourse, that was what you intended wasn't it? Am I missing something?
> 2. Absolute confidentiality and sincerity will be required and guaranteed, considering our positions >in the bank.
Well, duh!
> 3. Assurance that our own share will be released to us in good faith when this money finally gets >into your account.
We have got to trust eachother. Obviously.
> All things being equal, this transaction will be within 10 working days as soon as we hear from you. Please treat with utmost confidentiality. Contact me as quickly as possible through my private e-mai(rosekhumalo_22@yahoo.co.in ) or above telephone.

Duh again. No phones. Phones are always tapped. I've had one bad runin with the local authorities due to some idiot who couldn't stop talking on the phone. NO PHONES! I can't stress this enough! NO FUCKING PHONECALLS!
