Amphetamine route via propiophenone

1. MEK > Calcium Propionate (Ref 1)

2. Toluene >(permanganate oxidation)> Benzoic Acid > Calcium Benzoate

3. Calcium Benzoate + Calcium Propionate > Propiophenone

4. Propiophenone + Butyl Nitrite(poppers) > Isonitrosopropiophenone

5. Reduction of the Isonitrosopropiophenone to give Phenylpropanolamine

6. HI/RP reduction of phenylpropanolamine to give amphetamine.

I wonder if it would be possible to do a one pot reduction all the way from isonitrosopropiophenone to amphetamine ?
