PMA

Now i know that PMA is a nasty bad chemical and this is purely out of and interest in these reactions. But can PMA be made in essentially the same was as MDA or MDMA just substituting safrole for anethole.

I've read on the hive boards about using the peracid method to get PMP2P and then i assume you would just do a reductive amination to yield the final PMA or could you use the bromosafrole method using anethole instead and get PMA in the final pipe bomb setup or is the bromosafrole method exclusive to safrole.

And before i get flamed i utfse and it came up with not much on PMA synth's probably because it's nasty and no one wants to make it, the only synth i found was a Phikal synth that used anisaldehyde and nitroethane and nitroethane certainly isnt easy to procure.

Search and you will find....I remember at least one article and a poster by a guy from Belgium named Waumans that was about PMA from anise oil. It should be in the archive of The Hive. The article was published in 2003 in For. Sci. Int. I´ll have to look it up because I´m sure I have it somewhere on my computer

Thanks for that. I gave it a read and it seems that same as an mdma synth just using anethole. Still leaves the HBr question unanswered but at least i know the peracid works.
