Once you have had your house raided a couple of times you start to worry about things a little closer to home.

the internet is not exactly ripe for picking off kingpins you know... lotta talk not so much action... those who do big don't talk, those who talk don't do big. the narcoswine like to chase the big guys, and they also prefer to use street intelligence, the internet is next to useless as a source of leads.

And as Stinging_Nettle inferred, the 'internet leads' or wiser/edu-ma-cated chemists don't leave the back door open, to a lab full of illicit items in their jurisdiction.. If anything, the internet, at the least, educates those as to prevention of disasterous incounters with LE..

Overall, thus, internet leads are more likely, or SHOULD be more likely to result in a stale/failed bust, and thus ony encourage the disinterest of LE opposed to the 'ol grapevine' or 'first hand' informants..

You know the ol'sang, if you want a secret kept, only ONE living person can know the secret..
