what would HCl in the mouth do ??

THIS IS STRONGLY ADVISED AGAINST

i was sucking up some HCl into a 2ml pipette, which is small, so very touchy...

well it jumped or i did and then it did, and i swear it must have come so close to going in my mouth Shocked

i waited.... nothing happened, lucky i guess...

So does anyone have any thoughts or info on what would have happened had it gone a bit further...?

it will eat your tooth enamel and if you are unlucky and don't immediately dilute it and spit the shit out it may burn your gums too, and certainly will irritate the fuck out of your nose and lungs.

ALWAYS USE A BULB...

HCl is such fucking strong stuff that 100ml of fuming HCl (37%) contains a whole mole of HCl. Bear in mind that most alkaloids have 140-300g/mol so it's a no brainer that you'd be much better off working with a dropper, 1ml is about 20 drops, enough to ionise 1-1.6g of alkaloids. (unless you is an industrial chemist, that dropper is gonna be more than enuf, but it wouldn't need to be said to such a person not to put their mouth near concentrated haloacids)

Sony does not think you got a whole lot of HCl in your mouth as it would almost instantly start to burn, Sony once managed to mistakenly drink a filtrate that contained Toluene/IPA/HCl and after spitting out this longdrink of burning love he had to wash his mouth for 10 minutes to get rid of the funny feelings in his mouth.

I was searching for pictures of what H2SO4 and Hydrofluoric acid burns look like and I came across one where some fool actually drank HCl on purpose and his lips turned all brownish white and was starting to look like taco meat. I'm sure his insides didn't look much better either. Shocked
