I personally don't think that the GA will help a cacti very much, being an auxin and considering that 2,4-D is also - it might even kill it.
I believe if you want rapid growth of slower growing cacti the best way is to attach them to an opunita species or a pereskopsis cacti - both grow very fast compared to most other cacti -and are more resistant to water, so you can end up giving them more nutrients and water to grow then normal without any ill effects.

BAP -- I am not to sure of... not even sure what GA or even small amounts of 2,4-D would do - I am looking forward to hearing! I would be cautious however, as you might end up with one sick little cacti.

It would be interesting to hear more about rooting hormones and how they effect cacti, because if you could get a cutting of a cacti to grow roots faster, that would be very nice.  It seems my san pedro cacti has taken forever to grow roots, and I am to afraid to check to see if it has lately since I may damage it.

You mean GA as in Nerve Agent? So GA, GB, rest of G Series? Yes that will not help anything. I do not believe he means GA. I think he means Gibberellic Acid. It is known for plant growth. It is and known for plant mutagen as well.

Very nice stuff! Can grow a plant or shrink a plant under some condition. He need to do a experiment to see now. Like this:
