Koehler's Medicinal Plants sounds like an interesting book, if anyone can provide a link to it, I would appreciate it.

Ditto with the above - I hear both books are great and hard to find online.

I know I am jumping the gun considering it hasn't been launched yet but anyone who can poin me to a link for Medical Toxicology Of Drug Abuse: Synthesized Chemicals and Psychoactive Plants by Donald G Barceloux will receive karma :)

His previous title is also desirable but the index in google books for th latter is quite enticing

Oh and Snu's Garden of Eden is a very nice read and worth its comparatively high price tag... Well researched and written. It's available via Trout's notes website. The original 500 are not yet sold out

Quote
This book represents an effort to express a long overdue need of compiling information which has been accumulated over the course of more than 30 years of our work in the area of the synthesis of medicinal drugs. Our effort fills obvious gaps that exist in the literature of drug synthesis.
The synthesis of various groups of drugs are presented in an order similar to that traditionally presented in a pharmacology curriculum. This was done with a very specific goal in mind – to harmonize the chemical aspects with the pharmacology curriculum in a manner useful to chemists.
Practically every chapter begins with an accepted brief definition and description of a particular group of drugs, proposes their classification, and briefly explains the present model of their action. This is followed by a detailed description of methods for their synthesis.
Of the thousands of drugs existing on the pharmaceutical market, we mainly discuss generic drugs that are included in the WHO’s "Essential List of Drugs."
For practically all of the 700+ drugs described in the book, references (around 2350) to the methods of their synthesis are given along with the most widespread synonyms.
This book will provide the kind of information that will be of interest to those who work, or plan to begin work in the captivating areas of biologically active compounds and the synthesis of medicinal drugs.

Very nice Link Java :)

What is a decent place to upload files such as these for safe keeping or does such a thing exist? Or would mentioning it destroy it?

I believe that one does in fact exist, not sure how comprehensive it is.  Since there are terabytes of scientific journals alone, not even including books and other works, there must a way to sieve down the ones we want to a manageable number.

That might be a neat future - Tor2Web website, but then use it for file sharing via something like http://tor2web.org/

It would be quite cool to have some type of vepiary wiki/library combo were you could have traditional wiki styles but each topic have books for download with it
