Pepsis formosa, the tarantula hawk.
They hunt down and paralyse large spiders, which get paralysed, and eaten alive by the larvae.
Real nasty sting on them too, shortlived, but incapacitating.

Interesting, I'd like to experience the pain sometime if it only lasts 3 minutes as the wikipedia states....

I've never felt or seen a bullet ant. Whats so great about them, and what is their venom?

Bullet ants (genus Megaponera, Paraponera and Dinoponera) are tropical ants up to a couple of inches long, looking more like wingless black/brownish wasps and with a sting that is far worse than any wasp packs.
Known venom components include poneratoxin, which is a neuromuscular paralyzing agent, another toxin which is an activator of smooth muscle, poneratoxin blocks nicotinic ACh receptors, and voltage gated sodium channels, and components which cause incredible pain, lasting for upto a day are present also. Typical procedure for facilities handling these ponerine ant species includes foot-long forceps to change the food and clean house, and a helper standing by with antihistamines, several epi-pens, an asthma inhaler and steroids.
Sting from one of those guys will fuck you up royally, and land you in the ER most likely, multiple stings can quite possibly prove fatal.
Apparently they pack the most painful, and possibly most disabling sting of any insect.
