Anonymous vows internet blackout if Stop Online Piracy Act is passed

I would like to know where they got there data from, There is just not enough heavy hands behind Anonymous to pull off such an effort. Yes massive amounts of data could be blocked and with a large enough bot net running behind the scene some major servers could be taken off line but a total internet black out..... that is a tall order even for the entire world of hackers to come together and attempt to do.

my guess is, they are aware of their publicity, and are hoping to effect change via fear.

This seems typical of a man that claims to speak for Anonymous even though he has no affiliation even loosely with Anonymous. They are a mob rule of sorts and yet he does not even do any work what so ever. His name is Barrett Brown and he has been using Anonymous as a means of generating money by posting crap like this and getting media attention. He is nothing, he is not even very computer savy, he is just a Heroin addict that found a meal ticket and nothing more.

Much of what is being accredited to anonymous is nothing more then make believe fantasy of this mans mind.

Seek out other channels to get information on what the masses behind Anonymous have done and have planned.

Don't believe Media hype because this guy is the hype. Before he came around attacks they had stayed quite and hit there target... Hes just a rally call for Script kiddies to do his bidding.

Just do what you feel is right not what the media tells you to do because the media is nothing more then this one heroin addicts imagination. I just advocate everyone to do what they can to stand up for what they believe in not what is popular.

well, he's a heroine addict with an audiance, I suppose.

and all the script kiddies would love to sheepishsly claim allegance to just such a false "prophet".

don't beleive the hype is a sequal...

I know, as much as I truly hate the man at lest hes accomplishing something, However form your own sect, don't smear the name of another you have no ties to for financial gain. If you want proof this guy has no affiliation take into account that only a month or so after Anon took out Amazon and many others for shutting off financial support to Wiki-leaks and censoring free speach this SOB signs a 6 figure book deal with them.... Talk about sleeping with the enemy.

His lies, typical of dope-fiends IMO, have pushed the efforts of anonymous into the realm of hilarity. That sucks that because of him one of the greatest movements on the internet has turned into a joke so this faggot can make a few bucks.

Where those Lulzsec members to back me up on this?..... I know your here  ;)

The "catchcha-22" if they told you, how could they be "anonymous"? ::)

But seriously, "anonymous" is an Idea! I may not have the "skills" to do shit to anyone, BUT I CAN "suggest" an Idea to a 'community of unknowns' who just might be able to...

Dont forget, both Woz AND Berners-Lee are considered to be at the TOP of the "white hat" community! I'll take a guess and say these guys have friends, and colleagues..... 8)

I also have a gut feeling they both "know their way around the web" ;)

hey wizard, just a quick thanx for all the links you post for us all 8)

they ARE much appreciated, at least by me ;D

I'd also like to ask the "other members to, at least offer thanx if the data posted helps them in ANY way, I think most of us appreciate being told we are 'appreciated' ;D

("you" may not post much or at all! which is fine, but IMO its always a good thing to let other members know if 'you' appreciate/benefit from what they "do" ;))

so thanx again wizard mon 8)

ps. also, as it becomes more apparent, its not so easy being "un-hackable" if you're online,

so AFAIK, all the military bases are "isolated" and that they have No type of interface with civilian telecom services for exactly this reason

Last week, James R. Clapper, the director of national intelligence, warned in testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee about theft of trade secrets by “entities” within China and Russia. And Mike McConnell, a former director of national intelligence, and now a private consultant, said in an interview, “In looking at computer systems of consequence — in government, Congress, at the Department of Defense, aerospace, companies with valuable trade secrets — we’ve not examined one yet that has not been infected by an advanced persistent threat.”

In a demonstration at the RSA Conference 2012 here Wednesday, former McAfee executives George Kurtz and Dmitri Alperovitch, who recently founded security firm CrowdStrike, installed a remote access tool on an Android 2.2-powered smartphone by taking advantage of an unpatched flaw in WebKit, the default browser in the OS.
